I started 3 businesses. The first one led me to bankruptcy. The second one merely failed. The third is doing great.
I built boring game worlds, created linear stories, and ran campaigns that bombed after one session. But my players only seem to remember the 3 timeless campaigns we played in.
I gave advice to people who didn’t want it and refused to listen to advice I needed, yet I picked up just enough to become a better person (almost) every year.
I dropped out of college 3 times, but went back once more and graduated at age 27.
I guess what I’m trying to say is:
Stay upbeat when you get beat up. Good things will happen, in business and in life.
PS: I must thank John Maxwell for that “upbeat/beat up” quote. I borrowed it from his book “Failing Forward”

The ability to “roll with the punches” and still remain focused and positive goes a long way. I’d venture to say it is more important even than a person’s skill or ability (since without focus all the skill in the world is worthless). Combine skill with focus and it’s a winner combination for everyone — except maybe competitors. ;)
